Weird Science
I'm sure Alex will enjoy this video. I was going to post the music to video from the movie, but um, it didn't seem very appropriate. If any of you recall the movie in which Anthony Michael Hall and "that other guy" basically created the woman of their dreams, I suppose you can imagine some of the visuals in the video. Oh, and I never had a clue who sang this song.....Oingo Boingo? Say what??? The lead singer (in a close-up pic I saw) looks like a vampire with too much make-up on and he appears to be holding guns, nice.
Anyway, all of this weird science talk to share with you some simple science experiments Alex and I did today. It's been too long since I've done something different and creative like this, I'm embarrassed to say. He was looking forward to the "science projects," as he called them, all day. We had a lot of fun.
Most of the recipes are from www.ooeygooey.com. I got the info from a handout at a workshop, so this is the first time I've actually been to the site. We'll be exploring it more.

The magic touch bag almost sounds naughty;-) WOW-I'm seriously impressed. Very creative and inspiring. Wo knew you could do so much with corn starch? And to think that I just use it for diaper rash...Cute pics-love the orange tee Alex was wearing. Oh and the "gift" he ended up with is perfectly fine for him to keep forever;-)
Hope your new toothbrush is awesome-I've considered it-so let me know if it's worth the $$$;-)

Oingo Boingo was Danny Elfman's project. He went on to become a very famous film composer.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000384/

You are a fantastic mom! I want to take notes!Danielle - Thu August 28, 2008, 12:39 pm
Amy, as a dental hygienist I want to tell you that the toothbrush you got is great! But because you are having problems with receding gums you have to be sure that you let the toothbrush do the work otherwise you will make your problem worse. Just hold the brush on your teeth and let it do its thing...no scrubbing back and forth on your part! Just wanted to share a little dental knowledge with you! Have a great day!Lindsay - Thu August 28, 2008, 8:08 am
Yes! I remember the conversation about said toothbrush. I specifically remember being thoroughly confused about how a toothbrush, the equivalent of an electric sander, would be good for receding gums... Hmmm...you'll have to tell me how it goes.Charlene - Thu August 28, 2008, 7:56 am
Oingo Boingo! I had never heard of them until I met Ed and Deena - Ed was a roadie for them! Crazy. I love the science experiments!2008 Mike and Amy Focosi
